Sleep is when our body recharges and heals. A good night’s sleep is essential not only for healing but for patient comfort since many spend most of their day (and night) in bed during their recovery.
Today we want to profile 2 of our popular patient comfort mattresses, the LTC 7000 and 8000.
The LTC 7000 Latex Mattress is highly resilient with a 2-inch latex foam top layer. It naturally conforms to your patient’s body contours providing optimal support and relief from pressure points. Because this firm mattress does not break down or leave body impressions, it has a long service life.
We often recommend this mattress for patients at risk of pressure sores and as it’s the best choice to prevent heat build-up and sweat. It’s also a great choice for bedside stability and for ease of movement. The max recommended weight capacity of the LTC 7000 Latex Mattress is 350 lbs.
The LTC 8000 Gel-in Mattress has a two-inch comfort layer like the LTC 7000, but the 8000 model is made of gel-infused viscoelastic foam for better balance of heat regulation and energy absorption.
Like many of our mattresses, it is also a great choice for patients at risk of pressure sores. It should be noted that this medium-firm viscoelastic layer can impair movement for some patients. The LTC 8000 is also recommended for patients up to 350 lbs.
We know there are many patient care mattresses to choose from and every patient is unique. Contact us about your mattress and patient needs and we can help you select the right one.
